FAQs about Bucherer
what bucherer watch has the letters SUB on the bottom and a seahorse on the back?
The crown is at about 4:00, and the letters SUB are on the case at the bottom. This is a quartz watch that says Bucherer on the face at the top and swiss made in small print on bottom. It also has the date in small square opening next to center of face. I can not find out ANYTHING about this watch!!! Frustrated in Indiana..............
That sounds like a Bucherer Sub or Sub Pro, which are commercial divers' watches (for professional diving use), but these are not quartz watches, they are self-winding mechanical watches. If yours is a quartz movement, then it is probably a nice copy. Most high-class watches can be bought in copy form, usually with a quite good electrical quartz movement inside. I own a 1962 Rolex Air King, it was my Dad's, and I bought a copy of it in Bangkok that, from the outside, appears to be a perfect copy (except without the wear and tear of 50 years' use). The insides are battery-powered quartz. It appears that all the great classic watches can be had in this sort of copy form.

What is this Bucherer watch and what is it worth?
Recently I picked up a Bucherer watch in a thrift store (for $10, who prices this stuff?!) and found out a few things about it. One is that it's authentic. It's fairly obvious that it is, it's too good to be a fake. Plus, when I opened the case back, all the proper markings were on the wind-weight. Two, is that Bucherer is apparently the third biggest Swiss watch company, behind Omega and Rolex. And three, is that it is a 21 jewel automatic three position movement. I have some pictures posted here:
There's a picture each of the face, band, and movement of the watch, as well as a video of the movement in action just for fun. Doesn't really show much action but that's that. Anyway, could you help me ID the watch and then get a value set?
I recommend you one way,you can search'Bucherer watch' on google, there will have many professional watch stores,i think they can give you the more detailed introductions. If want to get the good deal when you buy Rolex,Omega,or other luxury watches, they can help you, check out here
they won't let you down.
Is there anyone out there that can speak english and german fluentley that can tell me what is said on the?
german yahoo answers where the watch was made over 30 years ago ? Maybe a family who was raised or worked in germany making watches or knew something about the company, ordiam , who made the watch. I see that there are answers on there web site but I can't read german. Thank you !
|Please specify what question and answers you are referring to. I can't find anything on Yahoo Answers (or Yahoo Clever, as it is called in German) about the Ordiam company, but if I knew what you are referring to I might be able to help you since I am German.
According to a Spiegel article, the company name "Ordiam" originates in early 1966: |
I found an Ordiam newspaper advertisement from 1968 stating "...because Ordiam is so surprisingly inexpensive." Women's gold watches are advertised from 89 DM (Deutsche Mark - the German currency at the time), men's watches from 22 DM.
(scroll to bottom of page for the ad). The average exchange rate for 1968 was US$ 1 to about 4DM, which means Ordiam men's watches were available starting at US$ 5.50.
According to a another Spiegel and a Zeit article, the company was sold in 1970 to the Bucherer family (Luzern) :
In 2006 the liquidation of a Zurich company named Oriam AG was completed:
The trademark Ordiam is currently held by a German company, but I do not know whether this is still the same company and whether they have information about the watches of the original company:
(contact addresses included). I found a used solid gold Ordiam woman's watch sold at an on-line auction for 22 Euros.
I also found a website in Polish where a Ordiam watch is offered for 249 zloty (approximately U.S. $80):
Another Ordiam woman's watch (this one with diamonds) is estimated at 400 Euros:
I have a bucherer watch and I need a price check really?
It's stainless steel and made in Hong Kong. I believe it's Swiss made too
Bucherer watches are Swiss made but you also said made in Hong Kong? Do you mean the strap or metal band? For now what you can do is browse ebay listings for asking prices. Over here we are not able to help any further without any model number and watch condition info.
Ewangelia Bucherer wants 24.90 Reimbursed?
I received two letters from EWANGELIA BUCHERER saying all those in contact got together for the Anniversary of the death of Adelheid von Serms. I owe $24.79 that Ewangelia vouched for me, because I didn't send any money. I received another letter today saying the same. I must pay my contribution in 10 days so the spirtual laws are fullfilled. I'm unemployed and I am hesitant sending any money. What should I do? EWANGELIA is a Castanic Medium & Searus
It's a scam, throw the letters away...or, answer that when your money arrives from the Nigeria deal you have going you will send anything you have agreed to owe her to her the very next day. Then go on with your life, but ditch any more letters from her until you get that Nigerian fellow's money.
Is Ewangelia Bucherer a fraud?
I received a letter from Ewangelia Bucherer stating that I along with only 6 other people have a mediumistic indifference and an aura friction. She went on to state that she would fix this for free. In her letter she writes "my work is always free of charge. You will have to pay me nothing, absolutely nothing at all. Not today, not tomorrow and not at any other time either." I accepted her help and in the mail today I got a reply from her stating that she was able to fix the problem but that her contact with the spirit of Adelheid von Serm got broken and that I now must pay $48.79 to help pay the costs of fixing the contact with Adelheid. I don't feel that I should have to pay this because Ewangelia said that all of her work was free. I am curious, are there more than 6 people who have received this letter from Ewangelia and if so, are you going to pay the money to fix the contact?
I received the same message. A true medium doesn't ask for money. It brings with it a negative persona to anything that may be truthful to the person that a true spiritual reading could produce. I will not seek the services of this woman nor will I be caught up in illusions that try to make me see things different. I trust my own mediums abilities and this tells my intuition that their is a danger here.
